Research Abstract

本研究の目的は,超短パルスレーザーによるナノ界面プラズマのゆらぎを秩序化することにより,固体表面にナノサイズの周期構造を能動的に創出できることを実験的に検証すること,及び周期ナノ構造形成過程の物理モデルを完成することにより,レーザーナノプロセッシングの基盤を開拓することである。
H25年度には,これまでに明らかにしてきた周期ナノ構造形成過程とその理論モデルの一般性・有効性を検証すると共に,モデルの精密化を行うため以下の研究を行った。
[1] これまで照射対象にしてきた誘電体や半導体とは物性の異なる金属 (SUS, Ti) をターゲットとして,ナノ周期構造形成過程の解明とその制御によるナノ格子創成の研究を行った。その結果,金属表面においても,表面プラズモン・ポラリトン(SPP)の励起によって,レーザー波長以下の微細なナノ周期構造を形成できることを検証すると共に,標的表面の凹凸周囲で発生する近接場が,SPPによる秩序構造形成の競合過程として働くことを明らかにした。これらを基に,競合過程を抑制してSPPによるナノ格子形成を行うための干渉ビームアブレーション法を開発した。
[2] 前年度までに開発した2ステップアブレーション法を基に,ナノ周期構造形成過程を検証すると共に,ナノ格子間隔dの100 nm以下への微細化を実現するため,GaNを標的とし,Ti:sapphireレーザーの第3高調波(λ ~ 267 nm)を用いてナノ格子形成の実験を行った。その結果,λ ~ 800 nmではd = 180 - 230 nmであった格子間隔が,励起波長の短波長化によってd = 50 - 60 nmヘ微細化した。モデル表面に関する理論計算の結果,励起されるSPPの空間定在波モードの近接場周期と観測したナノ格子の周期はよく一致した。
以上により,未解明であったナノ周期構造形成過程を解明すると共に,相互作用過程のモデル構築,及び同過程の制御によるナノ格子形成法の開発に成功し,目標を達成した。
