Outline of Annual Research Achievements

次世代重力波望遠鏡による最初のアラートは、２０１５年末に予定されている。しかし、位置決定精度は悪く、電磁波による追観測には困難が予想される。MOA共同研究は、ニュージーランドに設置した1.8m広視野望遠鏡によるマイクロレンズ探索を行う一方、61cm望遠鏡による追観測を行っている。1.8m望遠鏡の広視野は、重力波天体の同定に強力な武器となりうる。しかし、観測される多くの星の中から重力波天体を同定するのは、依然として困難と考えられる。このため、本研究では61cm望遠鏡に３色同時観測用の新カメラを製作し、多波長観測による絞込みを行うことを目的としている。
３色同時観測用カメラは完成し、２０１４年８月から現地で観測を開始した。ほぼ、予定通りの性能を達成しており、マイクロレンズ追観測に使用している。また、観測データをリアルタイムで解析するパイプラインを作成し、使用を開始した。1.8m望遠鏡も順調に稼働し、2014年のシーズンには、６２１個のマイクロレンズ事象をリアルタイムで検出している。これらの成果は、２０１５年２月の領域シンポジウムや、天文学会、２０１５年１月のマイクロレンズ国際会議などで報告している。２０１５年末頃に予定されている重力波初検出に向けては、ハードウェアの準備は完了した。今後は、タイムリーな観測ができる様に、重力波検出器との連携や観測メニューの検討などソフト面での準備を行い、重力波天体の同定を目指す。
現時点では、まだ重力波検出がなされていない。しかし、1.8m望遠鏡と61cm望遠鏡によるマイクロレンズ観測は、太陽系外惑星発見などで多くの成果をあげており、これらは学会・研究会の他学術雑誌等に発表されている。
