Outline of Annual Research Achievements

平成26年度中にはJ-PARCのハドロンホールの利用が再開されなかったため、実験を遂行することはできなかった。そのため、ハドロンホールが利用可能になり次第現場作業にとりかかれるよう、実験準備を行った。
現場作業時に手直しを行う必要はあるものの、基本的にはカウンターは全部完成した。6月にはそれらのカウンターを東北大学ELPHの電子ビームを用いてテストし、全てのカウンターについて全て狙った性能を達成しているとの結果を得た。テストの結果判明したわずかの問題も、現在までには全て解決している。トラッキングチェンバーについても、ワイア切れの修理が完了し、宇宙線によるテストを行った。チェンバーの１つは全く問題なく動作したが、もう１台については、わずかながら（２％ほど）検出ロスがあることが判明した。これは特に大きな問題ではないが、解決した方が良いのは間違いないので、現在原因を調べている。
一方、X線検出器であるHyperball-Jについては、平成26年度末までに、E13実験のためのインストールが終了した。平成27年4月のE13ビームタイムでは、多少の問題があったものの、おおむね順調に動作した。ただし、ノイズレベルがまだ高く、エネルギー分解能が本研究で目指しているレベルより多少悪いので、今後ノイズ落としの作業を行う予定である。
なお、ハドロンホールの利用は平成27年4月に再開され、本研究が行われる予定のK1.8ビームラインではE13実験が行われた。順調に行けば、本研究の最初のビームタイムは2年遅れの2016年度に行われる予定である。
