Outline of Annual Research Achievements

平成26年度は、チタン酸ストロンチウム基板の裏面に原子層堆積装置を用いて酸化チタンのルチルとアナターゼを300 nm成膜し、シナジー効果によって水素発生効率を向上させ、プラズモン誘起水分解システムの最適化を行った。本系においては、アノード側とカソード側のpHを制御することにより水分解を誘起するためのバイアスを印加しているが、pH1と13の組み合わせに比べて、バイアスが小さいpH1とpH9の組み合わせにおいて、より顕著に酸化チタンルチルの成膜による水分解効率が向上した。このことから、酸化チタンのルチルを300 nm成膜することにより、表面の伝導体電位がシフトし、逆電子移動反応が抑制されるため、水分解効率が向上したことが一つの理由として考察された。また、平成26年度は、水素発生助触媒の最適化を行った。スパッタリング装置を用いて、ロジウム、ルテニウム、およびそれらの酸化物を3 nmの厚みで成膜したところ、金属ロジウムを用いた場合に顕著に水分解効率の向上が観測された。これは、ロジウムの原子価状態が水分解を促進することが一つの理由として考察された。また、金ナノ構造を担持した窒化ガリウム基盤を光電極に用いてもプラズモン誘起電荷分離に基づいて光電流が発生することを明らかにした。今後、炭酸ガス固定やアンモニア合成の効率化に応用が期待される。これらの研究成果から、平成26年度ではプラズモン誘起水分解の効率を向上させるための半導体電子状態の制御や水素発生助触媒の最適化を行う上で重要な知見が得られた。
