病原性原虫に対するプラズマの殺滅効果の検証

Outline of Annual Research Achievements

平成26年度では、原虫に対するプラズマの効果の検証に向けて以下の研究成果を得た。
1)名古屋大学と産業技術総合研究所が開発した2種のプラズマ照射装置を用いて、2種類の原虫種(バベシアとトリパノソーマ)に対するプラズマ照射の効果について検証を行った。その結果、赤血球内に寄生するバベシアに対しては増殖抑制効果が認められないものの、血液中に細胞外寄生で増殖するトリパノソーマに対してはプラズマ照射が有意な増殖抑制効果を示すことを明らかにした。2)バベシアによる赤血球内増殖機序の解明に向けて、バベシアの遺伝子発現プロファイルを解読するとともに、バベシアの遺伝子改変技術及びバベシアに対する薬剤評価系を確立した。3)トリパノソーマの増殖機序の解明に向けて、ヘモグロビン取込み機構について明らかにした。
