Outline of Annual Research Achievements

本研究が連携する計画研究A01班で構築するバイオミメティクス・データベースは，生物学や材料科学等の異分野のデータベースを，画像データ検索技術により横断的に検索し，クラスタリングして提示することで，専門の異なる研究者に新たな気づきを提供し，異分野連携と産学連携の強力な推進基盤となる．また，ISO においてバイオミメティクスの国際標準化の検討が開始されており，先に述べた画像検索技術を踏まえ，国際標準化に参画することで，我が国の国際競争力強化に貢献できる．
以上の背景のもと，本研究では，オープン・イノベーション・プラットフォームの実現に向けて，国際的産業応用可能なバイオミメティクス・データベースの機能についての検討を目的として調査研究を行った．産学連携については，国内外におけるバイオミメティクスに関する異分野連携・産学連携の動向について，欧州のBiomimicry Europa等，昨年度の調査対象組織のその後の動向について詳細に調べた．
バイオミメティクスの国際標準化を検討する技術委員会ISO/TC266における標準化活動を行った．具体的には，国際委員会（第4回ISO総会，2014年10月，ベルギー），国内審議委員会としてISO国内審議委員会（2014年4月，第9回から第11回），国内WG4会議等に参加し，調査および標準化活動を行った．また，標準化に関連する大規模検索とデータ解析に関する技術開発も行った．
以上の活動により，我が国がバイオミメティクスの産業応用で世界に先んじ，我が国の産業界に資することを目指した．さらに，上記を通じて同分野の人材育成も行った．
