Outline of Research at the Start	陸域―沿岸―外洋間において、微量栄養物質の主要なキャリアとしての役割を担う海水中の溶存有機物について、沿岸・陸棚域における溶存有機物の特徴と生成・輸送・分解の情報を体系的にまとめ、外来性溶存有機物の移動フラックスの定量を試みる。特に、海水中のDOCが持つ放射性炭素（14C: 半減期5,730年）の年代を定量し、溶存有機物濃度分布の情報に年齢の情報を加えることにより、海洋有機物動態の理解を深化させ、マクロ沿岸海洋学の推進に貢献する。
