Outline of Research at the Start	瀬戸内海に存在する溶存態無機窒素の約60%は太平洋を起源とする窒素である。したがって、太平洋を起源とする窒素がどのように瀬戸内海へと供給されるのか、そして黒潮の流路など太平洋の状態が変化した場合に瀬戸内海へと供給される窒素に変化が起こるのか等の理解は、瀬戸内海の生物生産性や海洋環境を保全していくうえで不可欠なものである。本研究は、現場観測と数値モデルにより、瀬戸内海における太平洋を起源とする窒素の重要性と、太平洋を起源とする窒素の輸送過程を明らかにすることを目的としている。
