Outline of Research at the Start	本研究は、学術変革領域研究(A)『「暴れる気候」と人類の過去・現在・未来』の計画研究 B02「マヤ文明の起源・盛衰と気候変動の考古・歴史学研究」の公募研究として実施する。学術変革領域研究（A)への貢献:調査の際に過去30年間の降水量、気温、雨季と乾季の長さ、ハリケーンの強度と頻度などを尋ねることにより、農民の視点から「暴れる気候」を捉え、それに対してどのような対処行動をしているかを明らかにすることができる。研究項目B02への貢献：本研究を通じて、現代マヤ農民の焼畑農民の移住行動を明らかにすることにより、食糧を焼畑に依存していた古代マヤ都市は「定住」集落だったのかという問題を再考する契機となる。
