Outline of Research at the Start

我々の身体を構成する細胞は，様々な脂質分子が不均一に分布した細胞膜によって覆われている。そして，細胞は脂質分子の局在化を巧みに利用することで，様々な生命現象を緻密に制御している。本研究ではこのような細胞膜の複雑な不均一構造に迫るべく，細胞膜の特定領域の構造を作り換える『細胞膜構造リプログラミング法』を開発する。本研究を通じて，細胞膜における脂質分子の局在化を自在に制御する技術を確立し，従来は不可能であった生命現象の人為的操作を実現する。
