Outline of Annual Research Achievements

低温物理学における重要テーマの一つである量子流体力学を、非線形・非平衡物理学の観点から、理論的および数値的に研究した。舞台となる系は、超流動ヘリウムおよび原子気体ボース・アインシュタイン凝縮体(BEC)である。第1の成果は、量子乱流境界層の対数型速度分布の発見である。超流動ヘリウムの流体力学・量子乱流で歴史的に最もよく研究されてきたのが熱対向流である。以前は系は一様として主に周期境界条件により研究されて来たが、10年ほど前に優れた可視化実験が現れ、量子渦や常流動流れの可視化が行われた。我々はそれに動機づけられ、正方形管内流れの数値計算を行い、非一様量子乱流の構造と、大きな渦の揺らぎを伴うダイナミクス、そして量子乱流境界層を発見した。古典乱流境界層では乱れた速度場の平均は壁からの距離の関数として対数則に従うことが知られており、これはコルモゴロフ則と並ぶ乱流の代表的な統計則である。量子乱流境界層の速度分布を調べ、これが対数型速度分布を示すことを初めて見いだした。第2の成果は、原子気体ボース・アインシュタイン凝縮体における波乱流の研究である。スカラーBECにおけるボゴリューボフ励起の波乱流の研究を行い、巨視的波動関数、密度分布、素励起の分布に特徴的なスペクトルを見いだした。またスピノールBECにおけるスピン波の乱流を調べ、順方向カスケードおよび逆カスケードの存在と、これらに特徴的な相関関数のべき乗則を見いだした。これらの乱流の統計則は実験で観測できる可能性がある。
