Outline of Annual Research Achievements

本研究は、岐阜県飛騨市にある神岡鉱山の地下1,000メートルに設置した大型の液体キセノンシンチレータ検出器XMASSを用いて、超新星爆発に伴うニュートリノを観測することで、中性カレントニュートリノ-原子核コヒーレント弾性散乱の世界初検出を目指すものである。本年度は、安定したデータ収集を続けながら、これまでに収集したデータの解析を進めてきた。また、当初の研究計画にはなかったが、LIGOによる重力波の直接検出が報告されたことに伴い、XMASS検出器においても重力波事象GW150914と同期した事象が観測されていないか確認を行った。今後も引き続き、超新星ニュートリノにとどまらず様々な天体活動に同期した事象の観測の可能性についての研究が期待される。
