スパース最適制御理論によるバイオメカニクスのためのスパースモデリング

Outline of Annual Research Achievements

スパースモデリングのアイデアと制御理論を融合させた「動的スパースモデリング」を提案し,微分方程式または差分方程式で表される動的モデルの入出力のサンプル値からもとの連続時間信号を推定する新しい手法を提案した.もとの連続時間信号に対して,そのスパース性(関数としての台の長さが短い性質)を仮定したうえで,L1最適制御理論により解を導出できることを示した.L1最適制御問題は適切な離散化のもと,有限次元の凸計画問題として記述できるため,近接分離法など,スパースモデリングの分野で近年発展した高速アルゴリズムを使うことができる.また,理論的には動的モデリングにおける最適制御問題の解の一意性や存在性などを証明した.
バイオメカニクスへの応用に関しては,鳥の波状飛行のメカニズムが動的スパースモデリングで説明可能であることを発見し,山階鳥類研究所の協力のもとで波状飛行メカニズムの理解が飛躍的に向上した.
また,スパース性のアイデアを「離散値性」に拡張し,離散的な値をとるような連続時間信号の推定問題にも動的スパースモデリングの手法が使えることを示した.また,この定式化により,特にネットワーク化制御系で重要なAD変換における離散化誤差をゼロにするような制御系設計が可能になることも示した.
