Outline of Annual Research Achievements

ナノメディシン分子科学では研究期間内に度々、国際シンポジウムを開催し、この領域の研究者と議論をしてきた。これを基盤として、「ナノメディシン国際シンポジウム」の開催・共催を実施し、グローバル化の観点から研究成果の社会還元を実施することは、我が国がこの研究分野、また将来的な産業分野にてイニシアティブをとるためにも重要であると考える。すでに、平成28年5月にモントリオールで開催された世界バイオマテリアル会議でシンポジウムを共催した。この会議は世界中から約4,000 人の研究者が集まるために、この場におけるシンポジウムは、研究成果の公開にはまたとない機会となった。これに合わせて、国際雑誌Science and Technology of Advanced materials に特集号”Nanomedicine Molecular Science in Japan”を出版した。この際に、論文へのアクセスの便宜を図るために、オープンアクセス論文として、情報の公開に便宜を図った。また、ナノメディシン分子科学の将来への展開、発展を担う若手研究者、学生を育成するために、教科書「ナノメディシンの分子科学」を出版することで、研究成果を一冊にまとめ市販することは、研究成果の社会還元と継承の点からも極めて重要である。すでに、原稿を収集し、現在編集段階に至っている。この教科書を利用して学部特別講義を行うこと、大学学部生、さらには大学院の学生に関心を持ってもらえるようにするとともに、研究所、企業の若手研究者がこの学術領域を理解することにつなげる。将来、これらの基礎知識を利用して次世代の新産業創成を期待している。
