Outline of Research at the Start

本領域は宇宙の加速膨張の物理機構を解明することを目的とし、第一線で活躍する研究者を各計画研究代表に置き、理論・実験・観測をそれぞれで独自の研究テーマを立ち上げ、各計画研究を跨がる融合研究分野の開拓という極めて強力かつユニークな総合的研究アプローチをとった。これにより、超弦理論から観測・実験・統計的物理解析に至る総合的な研究成果が得られた。新学術領域における研究成果、活動について事後報告書を作成する。また、今後の研究の展開のために、本領域の研究成果、活動、若手研究者育成の査定、評価を行い、今後の研究に繋げる。

Outline of Annual Research Achievements

宇宙の極初期及び現宇宙の加速する宇宙膨張の物理機構・原因究明を目的とした本新学術領域「加速宇宙」は、超弦理論から観測・実験・統計的物理解析に至る総合的な研究を展開することができた。
具体的には、超弦理論に観点に基づく宇宙の加速膨張の起源に関係するシナリオ(swampland=究極理論の沼地仮説)の提唱、すばる望遠鏡広視野宇宙探査のビッグデータによる精密宇宙論の確立、日本がリードする宇宙背景放射実験に基づく宇宙論の確立、宇宙背景放射データとすばるイメージングデータを組み合わせた物理解析手法の開発、さらに本領域研究者を中心として加速宇宙に関連する原始ブラックホールの理論的・観測的研究の研究成果を導出した新たな研究分野の開拓が挙げられる。
当初の実施計画通り、令和2年4月から6月に掛け、過去5年間の研究成果(研究成果論文リスト、共同研究リスト、代表的な研究成果の報告書、若手研究者育成の実績、受賞リスト、報道リスト、一般講演会リスト)を取りまとめ、各計画研究、公募研究、研究グループの業績等を総合的に分析・整理し、事後報告書を作成した。並行して若手研究者の育成状況、その後のキャリアパスについて追跡等分析・整理し、課題等あればそれを洗い出し、事後評価報告書に反映させた。広範に及ぶ活動成果を網羅した報告書は、関係する研究者にデータとして共有することで、最終研究成果の共有をすると共に、新たに開拓された研究分野の更なる発展を促進出来た意義は大きい。
また、成果内容に関しては外部評価委員により客観的評価と助言を受け、最終的には事後評価ヒアリングで「A+(研究領域の設定目的に照らして、期待以上の成果があった)」の高い評価受けることが出来た。
研究成果の社会的還元として初めてオンラインによる一般講演会を2回開催し、合計837名の一般参加者で、研究分野の関心の高さに応えることが出来た。
