Outline of Research at the Start

炎症細胞社会学の概念をさらに国内外へ発信・波及させ、また今後の発展の方向性を議論することを目的とした公開シンポジウムを開催する。領域の研究成果を総説として学術誌で発表するとともに、学会などとも連携して一般社会にも生命科学・情報科学の最先端の研究成果を分かりやすく啓蒙する。
本研究領域の研究成果としての様々な疾患に関わる1細胞遺伝子発現情報、細胞間ネットワーク情報、時系列・空間シミュレーション情報を国内外の研究者が活用出来るよう、各参加機関の成果の公開、特に炎症に関するシングルセルレベルでの遺伝子発現データベースを整備公開する。

Outline of Annual Research Achievements

疾患の形成過程では、患部の炎症組織において細胞種（組織構成細胞と浸潤免疫細胞）や活性状態の異なるヘテロな細胞間の相互作用の変質、低酸素状態、非生理的な代謝応答、細胞外基質・液性因子ネットワークの変質が起きる。新学術領域研究【予防を科学する炎症細胞社会学】では、“炎症組織=炎症細胞社会”と見なし、2017年8月の領域発足から2021年10月までの4年強で肺、肝臓、腎臓、膵臓、心臓などの慢性炎症性疾患モデルおよび臨床検体について領域独自の高感度・高精度single-cell transcriptome (SCT)解析を行い、疾患の進展=炎症細胞社会の変遷過程で生じる細胞構成・細胞間相互作用の変化を明らかにしてきた。その成果は肺、肝臓、腎臓、膵臓、心臓、脳、皮膚、脂肪など様々な組織における炎症性疾患の時系列SCTデータとして蓄積されるとともに、2021年3月時点で原著論文192報として発表しており、これらは領域のホームページなどで国内外に広く発信されている。2022年度は領域代表が中心となりこれらの成果をとりまとめ、領域全体の成果を総括し、炎症細胞社会学のさらなる発展・普及を目的とした活動を進めた。研究分担者の池尾、渡辺らと本領域で収集した炎症性疾患のSCTデータを広く公開するデータベース（Single-Cell Inflammatome Porta, SCIP）の構築を進め2023年3月末に既に論文化されたデータを限定公開した。今後、順次論文発表されたデータセットの公開を進めると共に、本領域の関係者が新規に取得するデータセットを発展的に収集・公開していく体制を整えた。領域研究期間中に運用したホームページをSCIPへ統合した。
