Outline of Research at the Start	本研究領域では、情報物理学の学理の発展と生命現象の理解への応用を進め、情報物理学と生物学の境界領域として「生命の情報物理学」という新しい学問分野を開拓することが目的である。物理系の理論研究者と生物系の実験研究者が連携し、分子・細胞・細胞集団の各階層における情報物理学の理論研究と生命現象の情報を計測する実験研究の融合を推進してきた。異分野交流・共同研究を積極的に支援してきた。本領域期間終了後の2024 年度には、本領域の成果を総括し、論文発表・共催シンポジウム、教科書の出版、アウトリーチ活動などの活動を通じて、「生命の情報物理学」という新しい学問分野を広く世に問いたい。
