Outline of Annual Research Achievements

まず本領域で開発した新モデル系・ゼニゴケのさまざまな研究手法を国際的に普及させ、日本がこの研究分野の国際拠点として確立されることを目的に、2016年2月25日から3月7日に京都大学において、International Marchantia Training Course（国際ゼニゴケ講習会）を開催した。この講習会では海外の研究者6名や国内の外国人研究者2名を招待し、ゼニゴケを題材に、形質転換法、顕微鏡観察法、ゲノム編集法、超低温細胞保存法に関する実習を行なった。その結果、これまでに７ヶ国との間で国際共同研究プロジェクトの立案が成立した。
またこの講習会に合わせて中国の武漢大学より博士号を取得したばかりの若手研究者Pin Guo博士を招聘し、国際共同研究推進を担当してもらうため東京大学でポスドクとして雇用を始めた。すでにこれらの活動から、数多くの共同研究が開始している。またゼニゴケの研究における総説集および今後の研究上の取り決めについてをまとめた特集号を国際誌Plant Cell Physiology誌に組んだ。これにより、ゼニゴケ研究の基本ルールに関する国際標準化を実現できた。
また、2月26日には塚谷領域代表やレスター大学Twell教授を講師とする講演会を開催、3月3日には、中島班員をはじめ、ゼニゴケを扱っている領域関係者を発表者とするMarchantia Seminarsを公開で開催した。期間中には、本領域班員と海外の研究者が国際共同研究を進めるための議論も進めた。

予めの計画通り、国際講習会を開催、海外からの派遣等が実現し、順調に国際共同研究推進が始められている。

Strategy for Future Research Activity

初年度に仕掛けをした国際講習会、海外からの若手研究者の受け入れを基盤として、さらにゼニゴケ以外の本領域の特色も同様に国際共同研究推進を進めていく。またこれを通して国際共同研究を促進し、日本が植物発生遺伝学のメッカとしての地位を磐石なものとするように留意して研究を推進する。

公募班の確定を待ち、新公募班員を含めて全班員より派遣員を募るため。

全班員より上げられた派遣研究の要望に基づき、5－10件の相互交流・海外研究計画を確定させ実行する。
