Outline of Annual Research Achievements

国際活動支援班では、国内外の人的交流による国際共同研究、ブレインストーミング、ミーティングを実施することを通して、「植物新種誕生原理」のために国 外研究者が結集・交流できる国際的研究拠点を我が国に構築することを目的とする。特に領域代表が強力にリーダーシップをとり、本領域が推進する3つのブ レークスルーテクノロジー、すなわちライブセルイメージング、構造生物学、生命科学と有機合成化学の融合における優位性を通じて生殖研究を国際的にリード するための活動を実施した。さらに、北米拠点や欧州拠点と活発に国際研究活動を推進した。
2021年度に延期されたプラハでの国際植物生殖会議The 26th International Conference on Sexual Plant Reproduction、淡路島でのThe Cold Spring Harbor Asia Conference on Integrative Epigenetics in Plantsについては、ともに2022年度に再延期された。なお、いずれの会議も2年越しでようやく実現する見込みであり、領域に属したメンバー達が成果を発表する予定である。
コロナ禍により、海外渡航が大幅に減少したため。国際誌の特集号、国際共同研究のオープンア クセス論文支援により、主に国際活動を推進した。Plant and Cell Physiology誌のイメージングに関する特集号を発刊したが、これは本領域の国際活動としても大きく力を入れた日本初の実験をともなうEMBO Workshop (EMBO practical course)の成果と言える特集号である本領域のメンバーに加え、EMBO Workshopで来日した研究者達が多く寄稿し、その多くがオープンアクセス論文であり、本領域の成果を国際的にも大きく発信することができた。
