Outline of Annual Research Achievements

国際支援活動においては次の3つの目標、1)本領域から発信する「光圧によるナノ物質操作と秩序の創生」の概念の、世界の該当分野における浸透、2)物質科学分野全般における諸外国の優れた研究者が本領域の意義と発展性を認識し、本領域に合流・結集する行動の誘起、3)異分野道場の国際的な拡充により、本領域のエッセンスを日本で学んで世界の若手が、自国でさらにそれを広範な物質科学分野へと展開する波及性の獲得を上げる。これらを世界三拠点形成、国際異分野共同研究と国際異分野トレーニング道場の実施、領域成果の科学分野を越えた積極的な世界的発信の戦略的実施によって実現することが本国際活動支援班の目的である。
上記目的の念頭に本年は若手研究者交流の促進のため、オーストリア、英国、スペインに若手研究者を派遣することによって、共同研究テーマの立ち上げ、交流、共同研究拠点の立ち上げについて議論してきた。具体的には、オーストラリア・マッコーリー大学、英国・セントアンドリュース大学、スペイン・DIPCと共同研究、及び拠点形成の打ち合わせを行った。
また、6月には台湾国立交通大学とサマースクールを共催し、さらに11月にプラズモニクス・ナノフォトニクスの国際会議iSPN2019を主催した。

1: Research has progressed more than it was originally planned.

Reason

令和1年度は、オーストリア、英国、スペインに若手研究者を派遣することによって、異分野若手育成に繋がる国際共同研究が活発化し、さらに台湾での国立交通大・新学術共同のサマースクール、ワークショップの開催を実施して台湾の研究コミュニティーに本新学術の趣旨、成果などを大いにアピールすることが出来た。また、11月にプラズモニクスとナノフォトニクスに関連する国際会議iSPN2019を主催したが、本会議には関連分野の第一人者が当初予定していたよりも多数参加することになり、分野のサミットと裾野の広い多様な参加者が集う一大イベントとなった。特に、この会議に先立って淡路島で開催したワークショップや、本会議で設定した光圧科学特別セッションは好評であり、光圧分野に限らないナノフォトニクス分野の多くの世界的権威に対して本学術領域の成果を披露することが出来、当初の計画以上の成果があったと言える。

Strategy for Future Research Activity

令和2年度は本領域最終年度であり、本領域の成果を国際的に発信するために、国際担当の尾松が中心に、本新学術が共催となる国際シンポジウムを11月にエジンバラで開催する予定である。また12月には環太平洋化学学会Pacifichemにおいて光圧分野のシンポジウムを開催する予定である。その他、若手研究者の国際派遣等を計画し、本領域の国際的アピールの総仕上げを行う。

Causes of Carryover

当該年度に行う予定であった国際シンポジウムが、同じ年度のiSPN2019が計画より大きな規模になったため、次年度に繰り越された。この繰り越した国際シンポジウムを開催するため次年度使用額が発生した。
