Outline of Annual Research Achievements

本研究領域は、光が物質に及ぼす力、すなわち光圧を駆使し、「一つひとつのナノ物質の実在に選別し、非破壊・非接触に操する」ことによって高度な構造や機能を組み上げる「極微質量の人為的力学操作を通した秩序の創生」を目標とする。総括班では、この目標の達成の可視化に向けて設定した次の班間共同研究を強力に推進するための方針策定・企画調整など領域全体の指揮を執っている。
共同研究について、企画提案とまとめ役を担うコーディネーターおよび企画の具体化・計画立案および研究実施を担当する若手キーパーソンを総括班が指名し、領域会議や共同研究会議で議論を重ねた結果、共同研究[A]として「ナノファイバによるNV中心含有ナノダイヤモンドの光圧選別輸送」、「ナノ流路の微細ケージへのナノ粒子光補捉とマクロ配列」、共同研究[B]として「金属ナノ構造による高選択性キラル結晶化とその機構解明」、「微小液滴中のレーザー捕捉結晶成長制御法」、共同研究[C]として「液一液界面での異種粒子同時捕捉・濃縮・配向制御」などの共同研究成果が既に挙がっている。
平成29年度は、4月に海外から4名の評価委員を招き横浜において領域全体会議を行った。6月には台湾国立交通大との行動サマーコースを開催し、7月に国際会議EXCON(奈良)を共催し、光圧セッションを設けて本領域のアピールを行った。さらに年度末には成果報告会として年度末に第3回公開シンポジウム(名古屋大学)を開催した。その他、若手トレーニング道場や多数のアウトリーチを行った。
なお、平成30年度に繰り越した経費を用いて2019年11月にはプラズモニクス・ナノフォトニクス関連の国際シンポジウム(神戸)を主催し、光圧セッションを設けて、国際的に本領域研究のアピールを行った

Current Status of Research Progress

1: Research has progressed more than it was originally planned.

Reason

本領域は、物性物理、光化学、フォトニクス、レーザー工学、ナノ機械工学、分子流体化学等の様々な分野の研究者で構成されており、異分野の先端的知見と技術を融合させてシナジー効果により新しい学際領域研究を開拓するための戦略的・組織的マネージメントが総括班に要求される重要課題である。この広い研究分野をカバーして企画運営するために、総括班の評価グループは、当初、国際・海外評価委員それぞれ4名で構成していたが、物理、化学、生物、工学の各領域における光圧研究で著名な先生方5名にアドバイザーとして参加していただき、総括班会議において領域の方針策定・企画調整に関する議論に率直なご意見をいただいている。これらの活動により、本領域では異分野間の共同研究が非常に活発になっている。特に、中間評価において「共同研究が実質的に機能するためのマネージメントにより期待を超えた進展がみられる」との評価があった。これらのことから総括班活動は当初の計画以上に進展していると言える。

Strategy for Future Research Activity

総括班活動における重要な役割のひとつは【ナノ物質「個別・選択的」かつ「触接的」操作の実現】の目標達成を明瞭に可視化するための領域全体が取り組む班間共同研究のマネージメントである。特に総括班ではこの技術の実現を可視化するための次の班間共同研究の推進について指揮を執る。
[A]分離・精密配置・大面積化 -特定ナノ物質の分離と光制御による精密配置、大面積化-
[B]高度秩序創製 -粒子間相互作用の制御と結晶等の階層構造創製-
[C]光圧を利用した分子プロセスの制御 -分子の選択的力学制作を通した化学過程の制御-
以上の共同研究推進、及び広報・啓発活動、国際会議・シンポジウム・セミナー等の開催に加え、総括班では若手研究者・学生が将来この新しい分野の担い手となるため、特に分野融合的な視点を育てることに力点を置いた支援活動を行う。2020年度は、6月に領域全来会議を開催する。研究計画の進渉状況と今後の計画、ならびに公募研究の研究計画を各研究代表者より発表する。アプローチや方向性の妥当性に加えて、研究の進渉など含めて総括班がアドバイスを行う。総括班会議では当該年度の研究推進計画について緊密な議論交わす。また最終年度において、領域研究全体の成果をどのように取りまとめていくかを議論し、班間共同研究などの着地点を議論する。また、11月にはエジンバラにおいて光圧シンポジウムを共催し、また12月にはPacifichemにおいてシンポジウムを開催して本領域を国際的にアピールする。
