Outline of Annual Research Achievements

2018年度の総括班の活動は,各研究計画班代表と事務局からなる総括班会議により策定して,実行した.まず,総括班会議で企画した研究領域全体の大研究会を2018年9月に領域のキックオフミーティングとして行った.この研究会で,公募研究の説明や各計画研究間の情報共有が行われた.大研究会以外にも,「星形成フィラメントパラダイム」という国際会議を11月に開催した.参加者は海外からの訪問者の方が日本人よりも多く,ちょうど百人であった.その結果,本新学術領域の研究者が多く参加することができた.また,彼らの成果報告を幅広く行うことができた.それ以外の研究会にも若手研究者や大学院生を派遣し共同研究を促進した.
当初の予定通り, TV会議システムを利用した「星惑星形成ゼミ」を毎月開催し,毎回10拠点以上,40名程度が参加している.
自分達で作成して公開していた新学術領域のホームページをさらに拡張するため,専門業者にホームページ作成を依頼し,新たなホームページ(http://star-planet.jp)を立ち上げた.また,研究支援員を雇用してこの新たなホームページによる情報発信の促進している.
さらに,星・惑星形成分野での最大級の国際会議であるProtostars & Planetsの誘致に成功したため,開催準備を行なっているため英語力に長けた研究支援員を雇用して国際的な広報活動・開催のための準備(ホームページ開設や広報等)を行っている.

各計画研究班はそれぞれ優れた成果を挙げており,その研究活動の支援を行う総括班としては問題なく仕事ができていると考えられる.

Strategy for Future Research Activity

総括班の活動を通じて,各計画研究の有機的な連携のもとに研究推進と恒常的な相互フィードバックを受けるシステムを構築していく. これまでの活動で,新学術領域全体の大研究会により各計画研究の情報共有が可能になったが,これを毎年続けていく.また,毎月のTV会議セミナー「星惑星形成ゼミ」や若手派遣を通じて,非常に効率的に各研究計画の有機的連携が促進されている.これらの活動を継続していきたい. 若手派遣はさらに発展させて,各研究計画に関係する若手研究者や大学院生を別な研究計画に派遣するラボ・ローテンションをさらに推進する.これによりさらに共同研究が促進されるはずである.また,2021年度は星・惑星形成分野での最大級の会議であるProtostars & Planetsを主催する.他にも海外で行われる国際会議参加を通じて行われる海外への情報発信を重視し,海外研究者が執筆する論文に多数引用されるような成果を目指す.総括班メンバーは,海外主催の研究会においてSOCなど主導的な役割を担当することで国際発信を推進し,これらを新学術ホームページで紹介して国内発信も行う.
