Outline of Final Research Achievements

This project contributed substantially to creating the emerging innovative research area of “Topological Quantum Phenomena (TQP)”, through the studies of a variety of condensed-matter systems with broken symmetries. This project was organized by bringing together researchers working in the fields of insulators and superconductors, as well as superfluids and cold atoms. To promote crossovers among conventional academic disciplines, special programs including the following were conducted: International Conferences (TQP2012 and TQP2014), Intensive-Interactive Workshops (held 17 times), Young Researchers’ International Workshops (organized and attended by young researchers only), and Short-stay research programs for young researchers.
