普遍的な再生原理の探求と応用

Research Abstract

総括班では、領域全体の目標を達成するために、①解析ツールの標準化・解析データのデジタル化を支援・推進することによって、異なる動物種間の再生研究からより普遍的な再生原理を抽出できるようにすること、②計画班での交流のみならず、公募班を加えて研究をダイナミックに展開させること、特に、数理モデルとのフィードバックを定期的に行う機会を設定して理論と実験との両方を先鋭化させていくこと、③<形をつくる>再生研究を幹細胞研究者へと浸透させていく―という3つの明確な使命をもって活動を行っている。
<再生研究を推進するための特別講座の設置>新学術領域の推進のための京都大学内での再生学特別講座の設置を行った。全国公募をかけ、准教授1名・助教1名で構成される特別講座が平成24年度よりスタートする。
<再生医療研究者との合同国際会議の開催>再生生物学者と再生医療研究者のトップサイエンティストとの合同国際会議を開催し、再生医療と再生研究の共同戦線の強化を図った。具体的には、11月に、プラナリア再生研究の国際ワークショップを京都で開催し、引き続いて神戸の理研で、再生医療と再生研究の共同戦線ワークショップを開催した。また、12月には、分子生物学会で国際レベルのシンポジウムを開催した。それらの活動で次年度の再生医療学会でのプレゼンの足がかりを作ることに成功した。
<数理モデル理論生物学者と実験再生学者との交流による再生モデルの構築>公募研究で獲得した数理生物学者との交流ワークショップを7月/12月/2月と3度にわたって開催して、再生の数理モデルの先鋭化を図った。
<次世代シークエンサーを用いた再生遺伝子データベースの構築と共有化>カエル、イモリ、プラナリア、コオロギの4種の動物の再生系におけるトランスクリプトーム解析を行い、それらをデータベース化・共有化することで、再生の普遍原理の分子レベルでの解析をスタートした。

2: Research has progressed on the whole more than it was originally planned.

Reason

再生過程におけるトランスクリプトーム・データの共有化については、次世代シークエンサーが試薬のトラブルで年度内はフル稼働できなかったが、次年度に試薬の供給が回復したので、ほぼ次年度内に予定のシークエンス解析を完了することができた。また、再生生物学者と再生医療学者との交流については、2度の国際シンポジウムの開催で一定の成果を得ることに成功した。数理モデル理論生物学者と実験再生学者との交流についても、定期的に推進することができた。また、再生生物学特別講座の設置によって、研究体制の強化がなされた。

Strategy for Future Research Activity

次年度においては、日本再生医療学会への働きかけを積極的に行い、再生医療の第三極の流れを作るようにしたい。トランスクリプトーム解析については、引き続き積極的に行い、定量データの取得をめざす。
