| Outline of Annual Research Achievements |
宇宙で最も大量に存在する元素（H, O, C, N）からなる固体物質（氷および有機物）の形成・進化に着目し，実験，観測，理論，分析等の多様な手法で，分子進化の全体像を描き，これらを通して，化学的視点に立脚した惑星形成論を新たに構築する．そのために研究手法の異なる研究班を組織し，総括班の助言のもとに班間の交流を促し，手法の枠を越え，垣根を取り払う必要がある．
本年度は最終年度にあたり，領域の5年間の研究成果を深く理解・共有するとともに領域終了後の展開を議論するために，第５回の研究集会を平成29年11月に明治大学で開催した．計画研究および公募研究に関する各代表者・分担者からの5年間の成果の講演をもとに，それぞれ研究成果の意義さらに今後の研究の方向性に関する議論をおこなった．
総括班ワークショップを６回開催し（「宇宙分子進化：今後の展開II-VI」，「宇宙分子進化：成果のまとめと今後の展望」），領域の研究のまとめ方と今後の展開を議論した．
領域の研究成果を広く国内外に発信するために，6月27-29日に国際シンポジウム「Molecular Evolution in Space」を開催した．他に２件の国際シンポジウム・ワークショップ（Meeting on Dust and Ice Particles Spectroscopy and Scattering，Solar-System Symposium in Sapporo 2018）を開催し，外国の研究者と領域内研究者が密に議論した．また，日本地球惑星科学連合大会で「宇宙における物質の形成と進化」セッションを開催した．
また，研究者コミュニティや社会との相互理解を深めるために，本領域研究の内容の広報（プレスリリースやホームページを通じての情報発信等）にも積極的に取り組んだ．
