Outline of Annual Research Achievements

本研究では、(1)二酸化炭素の水素化によるギ酸合成と、(2)エポキシドと二酸化炭素からの脂肪族ポリカルボナート合成、(3)オレフィンと二酸化炭素の共重合のため触媒開発の三つの課題に取り組んでいる。これまで、(1)においては有機塩基存在下では活性が上がらないこと、(2)においても重合触媒活性が不十分なことがいずれも解決すべき問題として残されている。これらの問題を解決するために、本研究では、二酸化炭素を取り込むための遷移状態を安定化すること(すなわち二酸化炭素を取り込んで生じる中間体を安定化すること)に焦点を当てて研究を進めた。また、(3)については、これまで全く成功例のないチャレンジである。
(1二酸化炭素の水素化によるギ酸合成:本研究期間には、カルベン配位子をもつピンサー型PC(II)P配位子のイリジウム錯体を用いて二酸化炭素の水素化をおこない、有機塩基存在下で、世界最高レベルの活性を達成した。反応系の不純物を完全に除去することが再現性の鍵であった。
(2)エポキシドと二酸化炭素からの脂肪族ポリカルボナート合成:コバルト/サレン錯体にアンモニウム基を複数結合させた錯体は、プロピレンオキシドと二酸化炭素の交互共重合に高い活性を示すことが知られている。本研究期間には、前年度合成したコバルト(II)複核錯体の酸化反応をおこない、コバルト2価と3価の混合原子価錯体の調製にも成功した。
(3)オレフィンと二酸化炭素の共重合のため触媒開発:二酸化炭素挿入錯体の安定化をねらったパラジウムと他の金属の組み合わせからなる多核錯体の合成に成功した。

Reason

強い電子供与性を示すカルベン配位子PC(II)Pのイリジウム錯体をにもちいて二酸化炭素の水素化で、世界最高レベルの活性を達成した。また、項目(2)、(3)のいずれにおいても目的の触媒の合成に成功した。

項目(1)については論文をまとめて発表する。今後は項目(2)と(3)に集中する。
