Outline of Annual Research Achievements

太陽磁場精密観測グループは、2016年9月に名大で開催されたHinode-10 Science Meetingのまとめ論文を出版した。PSTEPの教科書執筆は、「4.1節：太陽ダイナモと周期活動－太陽磁場変動の観測・理論」を共同執筆した。また、PSTEP-4への貢献として、第24活動周期のデータ画像を集めたポスターを作成した。太陽周期予測数値計算グループは、次期太陽周期活動を予測するコード開発とパラメター精度の向上を行ってきた。このパラメターである速度場がサイクルの中でどう変化するのか衛星観測を用いて求めた結果、現24活動周期はこれまでに比べて11年の周期変動が激しいことがわかった。

太陽放射変動グループは、人工衛星観測太陽紫外線分光データと太陽彩層画像とを直接比較して紫外線強度変動の指標を導出する方法を確立した。過去100年にわたる太陽彩層画像乾板データから太陽紫外線強度の長期変動を再現して、地球大気の長期変動との関係を求めた。宇宙線変動グループは、樹木年輪中の炭素14を高精度で分析し、シュペーラー極小期の直前の太陽活動周期の詳細に明らかにし、黒点消失の2～3サイクル前から太陽周期長が伸び始めていたことを示した。また、宇宙線変動を1年分解能で解析できる新手法として、トラバーチン堆積物中のベリリウム10を用いる方法を確立した。

地球システムモデル計算グループは、太陽高エネルギー粒子によるNOx, HOx生成過程を導入したMRI地球システムモデルを用いて、大気海洋結合モデル相互比較プロジェクトCMIP6に準拠した実験を完了させ、太陽活動変動の影響を調査した。また、ベルリン自由大学の化学気候モデルを用いて775年の三宅イベントの10Be移流実験を行い、地質学的試料分析の制約条件を限定した。さらに、イオン効果を含む雲微物理過程を導入した高精度雲モデルの高度化を試みて再現性を調査した。
