Outline of Annual Research Achievements

第一原理計算と連続体シミュレーションの2つの手法を柱として実施した、実験グループに対する予察や検証の提供、観測グループが取得するデータの解釈、地球深部の主要な境界層領域の形成・進化プロセスのモデル化に関し総括を行った。数々の成果の中で主なものを以下に列挙する。(1)第一原理計算により内核粘性率を予測し、内核の並進移動や超回転が現実的ではないことを示した。(2)高温高圧下における液体鉄-熔融ケイ酸塩間におけるヘリウム分配を第一原理計算により決定し、外核が始原的なヘリウムのリザーバである可能性を示した。(3)第一原理計算により液体鉄合金の弾性特性を計算し、酸素、硫黄、珪素、水素のいずれの軽元素を含む場合も外核のP波速度及び密度を再現可能であり、そのためP波速度及び密度の情報だけでは外核組成を制約できないことを示した。(4)現在と内核形成初期の段階における、外核対流の駆動様式の違いに伴う支配的物理過程の違いを解明した。(5)内核の成長に伴う10億年スケールでのダイナモの進化過程を、熱史計算と数値ダイナモシミュレーションを組み合わせることによって解明した。(6)内核内部と内核境界直上の地震波速度の異方性を説明するために内核の非等方成長に伴う外核中の流れによる軽成分輸送の効果を考察し、地震波速度異常から予想される内核境界直上での軽成分分布を説明できる合理的な外核中の流れを見出すことが困難であることを解明した。(7)下部マントル鉱物の格子熱伝導率の第一原理計算とマントル最深部の温度構造のモデリングに成功した。(8)プレートの破壊と固着に関してより現実に即した3次元箱型マントル対流計算から、実際の観測の特徴と合うプレート上の熱流量分布やそれとアセノスフェアの運動との関係を解明した。令和元年度末、2年度末に班会議を実施し、これらを含む期間全体の研究成果について取り纏めを行った。
