Outline of Annual Research Achievements

トップダウン構造に関する研究では、フォノニック結晶を用いた導波路と共振器構造の結合動作を確認し、サブギガヘルツの周波数領域でフォノン伝搬を制御する音響回路を実現する要素技術を確立した。また、光と物質表面の格子振動の連成波である表面フォノンポラリトンによる熱伝導の観測を行った。厚さ20-200 nmのSiN薄膜において、レーザ光を用いた熱拡散測定を行うことで、固体熱伝導とフォノンポラリトン熱伝導を比較し、その温度依存性も測定した。その結果、温度上昇とともに、厚膜ではフォノン熱伝導が主となり熱伝導率は減少するが、薄膜では表面フォノンポラリトン熱伝導が顕著になり、熱伝導率が逆に上昇することを初めて観測することに成功した。
一方ボトムアップ構造に関する研究では、ナノファイバの近接場光によるCNT量子状態の制御を目的として、ナノファイバに吸着させたCNTからのラマン散乱及び蛍光の計測を検討した。ナノファイバ上の単一CNTから動径呼吸モード(RBM)およびGモードフォノンによる散乱光検出に成功し、円偏光の向きによる強度変調も観測した。偏光依存性が顕著に表れることが期待される蛍光については、DNAでラップすることによりナノファイバ上でもフォトルミネッセンスが励起できることを確認した。また、フォノン伝導の緻密な制御に向け、同位体グラフェンからなるフォノニック結晶を作製した。合成条件を最適化し単結晶グラフェン内にジグザグ端を優位に成長させることで、同位体界面の揺らぎを数ナノメートル以下に抑えることができることを示した。さらに積層構造の異なる多層グラフェンの熱伝導を測定し、最密に積層した場合に比べ、乱層積層の場合にはフォノンの伝導が大きく抑制されることも明らかにした。
