Outline of Final Research Achievements	This research developed an extensive archaeological database that covers the Middle and Upper Paleolithic sites of Asia in the period ca. 200 to ;20 ka, spanning the time when modern humans (Homo sapiens) is known to have made dispersals from Africa into Asia. The database comprises a list of related sites, their geographic co-ordinates, and information about stratigraphy, dates, and finds including fossil and lithic remains. It helped us establish a spatial and chronological framework of to facilitate investigating variability in cultural dynamism around the time of arrivals of modern humans in Asia. This project eventually produced a large original database, PaleoAsiaDB, which registered more than 3000 sites and nearly 8000 cultural assemblages. The analysis of this database yielded a number of research articles to provide with a reliable spatio-temporal framework to meet our research targets.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements	計画研究A01は、考古学的な編年基盤を提供することを目的とした。すなわち、20-30万年前頃のアフリカ大陸で誕生したホモ・サピエンス（新人）がいつ、どのようにアジアに拡散し定着したか、その地理的変異がどのように生じたのかを文化史的観点から論じるには、各地の遺跡の編年が欠かせない。そのために、知られている諸遺跡の関係データを整理統合したのがパレオアジアDBである。このデータベースは本領域の研究基盤として機能した。完全英文仕様であり、2023年には国際出版社から刊行されるほか、インターネット公開の予定でもある。学術界のみならず関心ある社会一般にもインパクトをなすと確信する。
