Outline of Annual Research Achievements

スロースリップイベント (SSE) による地殻変動を詳細に把握するためのGNSS連続観測を、四国地域、九州地域、沖縄本島周辺地域、八重山諸島周辺地域それぞれで継続し、安定的に地殻変動データを得た。これらのデータに基づき、2015~2016年頃および2018~2019年頃に豊後水道で発生した2つの長期的SSEのすべり域を推定した。それらすべり域の広がり、特に深部(北部)の微動領域まですべり域が広がった場合に、微動活動の活発化が伴うことを見出した。
傾斜変化データに基づいて、四国における18年間の短期的SSEのすべり分布を推定し、活動パターンの長期的な変化を見出した。特に、隣接領域での長期的SSEの活動時に、短期的SSEが活発化することや、2012年ごろよりあとの期間でより大規模なSSEが増える傾向が見られた。歪・傾斜・地下水データを用いて深部・浅部の短期的SSEの詳細なモニタリングとカタログ化を継続して行った。歪観測密度向上のため、既存井戸を用いた安価な歪観測技術開発を行った。
昨年度に続き、重力観測を宮崎、東海、土佐清水で実施し、重力データを蓄積した。石垣島における重力観測を継続し、SSE中を含む重力データを蓄積し、データ解析に着手した。東海地方の重力データや微動の潮汐応答について新しいモデルを構築した。
スロー地震の発生メカニズムやプレート境界における滑り挙動の空間変化を理解するため、S-netデータを用いた日本海溝における高分解能な地震波速度構造推定を行った。
