Outline of Annual Research Achievements

本年度はサブカテゴリごとに以下の成果が得られた。
(A)スロー地震諸現象の時間空間的な関連性の解明:南海トラフのテクトニック微動について、シグナル振幅を利用た新たな検出手法を開発・適用し、既存手法の約2倍のイベントを検出した。また微動サイズ分布の不均一性をPCA震源モデルによって説明し、その原因がイベント励起力の低下もしくは間隙水圧変化によると考察した。さらに様々な地域の微動・超低周波地震に対して、地震波エネルギーと地震モーメントの比を推定し、この値がほぼ一定であることを示した。微動から超低周波地震までのスロー地震活動が広帯域スロー地震と考えられる証拠をさらに追加した。
(B)現実的プレート運動システムにおけるモデル化:東北沖地域で熱伝導率の温度・物質依存性の温度構造物理モデリングを行った。現実的な熱伝導率を考慮すると温度が数十度、流体放出場所が10 km程度変化することを示した。脆性塑性不均質断層モデルに、レオロジー特性の温度依存性を追加して、スロー地震の発生様式の深さ依存性を説明した。地下構造の不確かさに伴うモデル予測誤差の影響をとりいれた断層すべり分布推定手法を開発、豊後水道の2010年SSEに適用し有効性を確認した。
(C)巨大地震を含むプレート運動システムの予測可能性の検討:2009年トンガ海溝M8。0浅部アウターライズ地震直後から数年間、GNSS観測点での非定常変位と深発地震活動静穏化が生じたことを発見した。破壊伝播方向が反転する地震や、同時多発的に破壊する地震といった特殊な地震について解析を行い、スロー地震との類似性について検討を行なった。ニュージーランドヒクランギ海溝の群発地震とSSE活動を、地震活動統計モデルとGNSSデータを用いて精査し、群発地震がSSEに専攻することを明らかにした。また、SSEを組み込んだ新しい地震活動統計モデルを作成し有効性を確認した。
