Outline of Annual Research Achievements

本研究では、分子・分子集合体に作用する光圧をナノ空間で自在にデザインし、室温・媒質中においてナノ物質を個別選択的に捕捉・操作し、配置・配向・配列を制御する技術を世界に先駆けて開発するとともに、多様な光圧制御技術により光物質操作のマクロ化を実現する事を目的としている。
今年度は、金ナノ構造を用いたナノ粒子操作を行うため、開発した数値解析手法を用いて金ナノトライマー構造に円偏光を入射した際の局在場の解析を進めた。この知見を基に実際に電子線描画装置を用いて水中で波長1064nmに共鳴を持つ金ナノ構造作製を行った。電子線描画装置の作製条件の最適化により、三量体構造のギャップ部を15nm程度のサイズまで小さくすることに成功し、よりギャップ部に強い局在場を誘起することが可能となる構造の作製に成功した。試作した構造に波長1064nmの円偏光レーザーを照射し、水中でナノ粒子の捕捉と粒子位置解析を試みたところ、ギャップ周辺に粒子が光捕捉され、その位置解析結果からギャップ近傍でナノ粒子が軌道回転運動を起こしていることを確認した。また、金ナノ構造の局在場特性を明らかにするため、白色光全反射照明を用いた散乱型ニアフィールド顕微鏡を構築し、全反射照明によって金ナノダイマー構造中に誘起される高次モードとの干渉効果により、局在場分布が照射条件に応じて変化する様子を実験的、解析的に明らかにした。さらに粒子の吸収特性を利用した輸送、選別を行うための実験を開始し、テーパーファイバーを用いた粒子捕捉・輸送システムの構築を行い、100 nm程度のナノ粒子の捕捉・輸送に成功した。

昨年度に引き続き、金属ナノ構造体に光渦ビームを照射したときの局在プラズモン場の多重極特性・偏光 回転特性など光電場のナノ形状のシミュレーション解析を行い、金ナノ構造のギャップ部に誘起されるナノ光電場成形に最適な金属ナノ構造サイズや形状の設計を行なった。
波長1064nmの円偏光照射により、ギャップ部にナノ円偏光場が形成される様子を確認し、この結果を基に微細加工技術により金ナノトライマー構造の作製に成功した。この構造を用い、ナノ粒子の捕捉・操作を試みたところ、ギャップ部を中心に数十nmの範囲に単一ナノ粒子が捕捉される様子を確認し、この位置解析を行うと、円偏光場のスピン運動量が粒子に転写され、ギャップ部を中心とした軌道回転運動を起こしていることを明らかにした(国内、国際学会発表済み。論文準備中)。
また、金ナノ構造中の局在場の分光イメージングを行うため、白色光全反射照明を用いた散乱型ニアフィールド顕微鏡を構築した。本装置を用い、全反射照明によって金ナノダイマー構造中に誘起される高次モードとの干渉効果により、局在場分布が照射条件に応じて変化する様子を実験的、解析的に明らかにした。
さらに直径数百nmのくびれを持つテーパーファイバーを用いた粒子捕捉システムの構築を行い、直径400nm程度のくびれを持つテーパーファイバーにレーザー光を入射し、100nm程度のポリスチレン粒子、ダイヤモンド粒子、金ナノ粒子が捕捉・輸送される様子を確認した。

Strategy for Future Research Activity

計算に基づき設計・試作した金ナノ構造に対し、コンピュータ制御空間位相変調器を用いて半導体レーザーのガウス光を光渦ビームにモード変換し、波長板で偏光を調整して金ナノ構造体に集光するシステムを構築する。本システムを用いて、ナノ光場においてキラル分子・分子集合体を合成・形成することにより、光反応性の差異および放射圧の作用による選択的な構造形成プロセスの実現に挑戦する。また、テーパーファイバーを用いた粒子捕捉技術を応用し、捕捉した単一ナノ粒子の吸収特性による運動制御を試み、吸収の違いによる粒子選別を試みる。
