Outline of Annual Research Achievements

分子や分子集団に働く光圧の強さや方向をナノメートル空間の各点毎に自在に制御することにより、如何に小さい物質を如何に高い精度で光マニピュレーションできるかという極限性能の追究を目指している。具体的な研究課題としては、1)単一分子レベル光操作:ナノサイズの光局在場により室温・媒質中において分子を個別選択的に捕捉・操作し、配置・配向・配列を制御する技術の開発、2)ナノ空間の光圧デザイン:光電場の振幅・位相・偏光をシングルナノメートルスケールで成形する手法を開発し、分子・分子集合体の形状選別トラッピングやナノ光渦による分子の回転運動(分子渦)・キラル構造形成等の実現、3)光操作システムのマクロ化:基板の大面積化・集積化や多様な光圧制御技術による光ナノ物質操作のマクロ化に挑戦している。今年度は、1)ナノファイバーによるナノ粒子選別輸送と光圧スペクトロスコピーに関する実験実証と、ナノダイヤモンドに作用する共鳴吸収力・散乱力や光圧測定精度の定量的な解析を実施した。また、2)デザインした金属ナノ構造体によるナノ空間角運動量制御により、ダイヤモンドナノ粒子をナノ空間で回転運動を誘起する実験に成功するとともに、超解像イメージング技術を応用展開して、ナノメートルの精度でナノ粒子の運動を可視化する技術を開発した。さらに3)分子ナノ粒子のプラズモニックギャップ捕捉・配置・配列およびキラル分子集合体ナノ粒子の高感度円二色性分光法を開発した。

Current Status of Research Progress

2: Research has progressed on the whole more than it was originally planned.

Reason

1)ナノファイバーによるナノ粒子選別輸送と光圧スペクトロスコピー:ナノ粒子個々の量子力学的特性が光圧を介してマクロな運動として現れることを利用して、ナノ粒子の特性による選別・分離・輸送を実現した。ナノファイバーを用いた回折限界対向ビーム光学系により高精度に共鳴吸収力を検出し、ナノダイヤモンドの窒素空孔中心の有無による光圧選別実験に成功した。今年度は特に、ナノダイヤモンドに作用する共鳴吸収力・散乱力について定量的に解析し、サブフェムトニュートーンオーダーの極めて高い光圧測定精度が実現できていることを実証した。また、単一ナノ粒子の吸収断面積を定量計測する新概念の光圧スペクトロスコピーを実験実証し、超高感度分光法としての有効性を示した。
2)デザインした金属ナノ構造体によるナノ空間角運動量制御とナノ回転操作:昨年度に開発した3次元光ナノ成形制御システムと、電子線描画装置を用いたリソグラフィー技術により作製した金多量体ナノギャップ構造を用いて、ダイヤモンドナノ粒子をナノ空間で回転運動を誘起する実験に成功した。また、超解像イメージング技術を応用展開して、ナノメートルの精度でナノ粒子の運動を可視化する技術を開発し、光ナノ渦軌道回転運動を明確に解析するとともに、理論解析の研究グループと共同でナノ光渦場のスピン・軌道角運動量がナノ粒子に転写する現象を理論解明することができた。
3)分子ナノ粒子のプラズモニックギャップ捕捉・配置・配列:金属ナノ構造体の局在プラズモン場の光圧により数十nmサイズの蛍光分子集合体粒子を強力に捕捉して構造体ギャップ部に配置・固定する技術を開発し、キラル分子集合体ナノ粒子の高感度円二色性分光を実現した。

Strategy for Future Research Activity

ナノファイバーを用いた共鳴吸収選別輸送・光圧スペクトロスコピーシステムを高度化し、中空ガラス管に熱をかけて延伸したナノキャピラリーを用いて10 nmより小さい粒子の光選択輸送および吸収断面積解析を実現するとともに、単一分子に作用する光圧の定量解析にも挑戦する。また、ナノ光局在場のスピン・軌道角運動量転写現象を用いて、ナノ物質の秩序構造の制御、具体的には、光圧キラル結晶のエナンチオ制御について共同研究を推進する。さらに、分子吸着状態にある金属ナノ構造の散乱スペクトル計測、励起波長に依存したラマン散乱強度変化によってスペクトル計測を行い、光圧を発生させる系の光吸収特性を実験的に検証するとともに、金属表面に吸着した分子系についての分子軌道計算から界面準位励起の分極率を理論的に見積もり、実験結果との整合性から単一分子トラッピングを実証する。
