Outline of Annual Research Achievements

本研究では、光圧のみがなし得る独自技術を開拓する。具体的には、「ナノ物質を選択的・局所的に極限まで拡散・濃縮できる究極的触媒システム」「結晶性・成長速度・多形を制御できる革新的アミノ酸・タンパク質結晶成長法」「高濃度なナノ物質(例えばDNA・量子ドット)の粒子間相互作用を光で操作して創る階層構造(選別・分離・固定・二次元パターニングなど)」に挑戦する。
今年度の研究成果を列挙する。光ピンセット法によるNaClO3のキラル結晶化において、金属ナノギャップ構造によるプラズモン増強電場、あるいは、光渦の軌道角運動量を活用することで、鏡像体過剰率が50%を超えることを明らかにした。これらの研究から光ピンセット法におけるキラル結晶化のメカニズムが分かってきた。一般にNaClO3は準安定相であるアキラル結晶を経て安定相のキラル結晶へ転移する。プラズモン増強場や光渦などが誘導するキラルな光圧はアキラル結晶からキラル結晶への転移において力学的に作用していると推測できる。
また、シリコンナノ構造体を活用した非プラズモニック非サーマル光トラッピング法によって大量のマイクロ微粒子を局所的に高濃度捕捉するとともに六方細密型の二次元フォトニック構造を創成することに成功した。
この他、光渦を照射した時に物質表面に現れる螺旋構造の素過程が光渦の軌道角運動量と円偏光のスピン角運動量の相互作用と微粒子間相互作用を取り入れた光圧理論で説明できることを明らかにした。
このように順調にインパクトの高い研究成果が数多く得られた。

Reason

光圧による物質操作によってキラル結晶化、螺旋構造化、フォトニック構造化などの高度な秩序体が創成できるとともに、実験結果の理論的考察が進展した。特に、光渦を照射した時に物質表面に現れる螺旋構造の素過程や光ピンセット法におけるキラル結晶化のメカニズムがおおよそ明らかになってきた。
このように順調にインパクトの高い研究成果が数多く得られた。

Strategy for Future Research Activity

光ピンセット法によるNaClO3キラル結晶化で得た知見を有機分子などに応用する。また、光渦の軌道角運動量が創る螺旋構造体に機能を付加する。具体的には、螺旋ファイバー中を伝播する光の固有モード性を検証する。さらには、シリコンナノ構造体を活用した非プラズモニック非サーマル光トラッピング法によってできる二次元フォトニック構造にレーザー発振などの新奇機能を付加する。
これら光圧が創る高度な秩序構造体を光圧理論の立場から理解する。
