Outline of Annual Research Achievements

金属中心キラリティーを有するChiral-at-Metal錯体は、化学反応の基質活性化や電子の授受に直接関わる金属がキラル中心として、不斉反応場やキラル物性を提供する物質群である。特に、アキラルな配位子のみで置換活性な金属中心の不斉誘導と安定化が可能な方法を開拓することにより、不斉金属錯体の多様性が著しく増加し、「不斉金属の化学」に新たな展開を促すことが期待される従来の研究は安定な八面体型の「不斉金属」錯体に限られており、四面体型錯体はラセミ化が速く、光学的に純粋な錯体は短寿命であった。令和2~3年度は、亜鉛中心にのみ不斉中心を持ち、光学的に純粋な状態を安定に保つことができる四面体型「不斉亜鉛」錯体の合成法を開発し、不斉触媒反応への適用を検討した。光学純度99%以上の四面体型キラル亜鉛錯体は、非対称な三座配位子を用いたラセミ体亜鉛錯体から、不斉補助剤による不斉誘導を介して、3工程で合成することに成功した。この亜鉛錯体の溶液を長時間高温に保った場合でも実質的にラセミ化は起こらず、驚異的に高い安定性を示すことが明らかになった。また、このキラル亜鉛錯体を高選択的な不斉Oxa-Diels-Alder反応の触媒として使用することができた。
単核のChiral-at-Metal錯体以外に、Chiral-at-Metal Cluster錯体の設計・合成と不斉誘導化についても検討した。具体的には、キラル配位子効果による金属ナノクラスター中心のキラル構造への変換反応を行い、円二色性および円偏光発光測定により溶液中の構造安定性とリン光特性を明らかにし、理論計算により金属集積の協同効果を解析した。この成果は、金属クラスターのキラル構造の設計と不斉誘導法に関する重要な指針を与えるものである。
