Outline of Annual Research Achievements

向山(代表)は、Einstein-Gauss-Bonnet理論の4次元極限について、GlavanとLinの主張の問題点の本質を明らかにし、その解決方法を見出した。この研究は多くの研究者から注目を集め、既に100回以上引用されている。また、DHOST理論において、新しい回転しているブラックホール解を発見した。前田(分担者)は、階層的3体系のダイナミクスの解析を行い、そのような系からの放出重力波について詳細に 調べた。その結果、現在計画されているLISAなどによる観測可能性を指摘した。浅田(分担者)は、一般相対性理論を修正する重力理論が有するスカラー型やベクトル型の余剰な重力波偏波を、現状の4台の重力波検出器で直接検証するための手法を検討した。そして、GW170817のように電磁波対応天体が付随する重力波源の方向がある条件を満たせば、スカラー偏波のみを分離して検証できることを示した。須山(分担者)は、重力波干渉計の実データを使って、世界で初めて小スケール原始密度揺らぎによって作られる背景重力波の探索を行なった。そして、有意なシグナルは検出されなかったことから、原始密度揺らぎの振幅に上限を与えることができた。これは、原始ブラックホールの非観測による従来の制限とは全く独立な方法で得られたものであり重力波天文が初期宇宙を調べる有効な手段となったことを実証する成果である。

Reason

37編の論文を査読付き学術雑誌に出版し、国際会議や研究会で研究発表を20回行なった。「研究実績の概要」で記述したように、学術的価値の高い研究を数多く行い、重力波観測が重力理論の発展を促す可能性、そして理論予言がさらなる実験の発展の動機付けとなる可能性を追求した。したがって、本研究はおおむね順調にしてんしていると判断する。

Strategy for Future Research Activity

本研究は、重力理論の検証に向け、天文学的・宇宙論的観点からの重力波の研究を総合的に推進するものである。当然全体として統一感をもって研究に臨むべきであるが、それと同時に、個々の研究に高い質が求められる。そこで、個々の研究の効率を最適化するため、本年度同様に、全体を A) 拡張重力理論に基づく宇宙シナリオの重力波による検証可能性; B) 拡張重力理論におけるコンパクト天体と重力波; C) 相対論的な強重力場での天体の運動と重力波生成・伝播; D) ブラックホール周りの粒子のカオス的運動など、相対論的力学系からの重力波; E) 重力波の伝搬に関する理論模型の探求と観測との比較による制限; F) インフレーション宇宙論の重力波物理としての側面; G) インフレーション後の再加熱過程における重力波の生成; H) レーザー干渉計やパルサータイミングを用いて背景重力波を検出する方法論; I) 原始ブラックホールの連星が放出する重力波; J) ブラックホールの微視的構造の理論的解明; K) 超弦理論などの量子重力理論に基づく宇宙論シナリオと重力波 の 11 課題に分類し、それぞれについて研究を遂行する。
