Outline of Annual Research Achievements

本研究では、太陽系天体における水・物質循環に関する実証可能な物理モデルを構築し、多様な水環境を有する太陽系天体が、いかにして作られたのかを明らかにすることを目的としている。最終年度では、実験班により定量化された化学過程を、各天体の物理モデルに組み込み、探査・分析データを実証として、地球を含めた太陽系天体の水・物質循環の歴史を紐解いた。
具体的には、はやぶさ2探査計画により持ち帰ってきたリュウグウサンプルの物性データを用いて、母天体の形成と進化に関する数値シミュレーション(熱史計算、衝突破壊計算)を行い、母天体が早期に形成され、全体が低温にて水質変成を起こしたがわかった。また、小惑星リュウグウを形成した母天体の衝突過程に関しては、衝突地点より離れた裏半球の物質からリュウグウが 形成されたことがわかった。このほか、衝突による脱ガスや衝撃変成 についても調べ、帰還サンプル分析に対する解釈を与えた。
また、地球大気の C,N,H 比がコンドライト(隕石)組成と異なることは今まで謎とされてきたが、地球形成時のコア・マントルへのこれら元素の分配、大気剥ぎ取りを通して、コンドライトの組成から現在の大 気組成へと進化することを示した。さらに、地球の水量が、形成初期(原 始惑星の状態)に、木星の形成および大移動に伴って、外惑星領域で形成された微惑星が地球形成領域に輸送され、現在の地球の海水の 10 倍程度の水が原始地球に供給されることがわかった。この 10倍程度の水の 90%はコアに分配され、地表には現在の海水量が残ることになる。
