Research Abstract

本研究では、輸送されてくる陸起源エアロゾルに含まれる微量元素や微量有機物質の海洋表層への沈着フラックスを実測とモデルから見積り、海水成分、海洋生態系の変動にどの程度寄与しているかを推定する。また、高生物生産海域から海洋生物起源気体が大気中に放出された後、海洋大気境界層内で生成された、重量濃度は低いが、高い数粒子濃度を持つ微小粒子を、個々にリアルタイムで計測を行い、粗大粒子である海塩粒子ともに海洋起源エアロゾルの物理的・化学的特徴と粒子化効率、生成フラックスを海域別に評価することが目的である。
亜寒帯海域から放出された生物起源気体は、海洋エアロゾル粒子の重要な起源であり、中緯度海域にもその影響が及ぶことが明らかとなった。しかし、この海域は、降水や海霧などで粒子は除去されやすい。一方、反応性の高い生物起源気体の存在は、粒子化効率を加速し、エアロゾル生成を促進する。粒子生成後の放射強制力への寄与は、海洋生態系グループとの連携で、生物優勢種の気体生成効率や有機物分解を考慮した各海域での過程を明らかにするものである。
