Research Abstract

海洋表層における生元素循環メカニズムの解明を目的に、栄養塩類、有機物および細菌群集の存在形態の詳細と微細な変動を検出するための最先端技術を開発、それらを駆使し、特に大気との相互作用と関連付けながら解析、評価を行う。具体的に、成層海域表層内での窒素・リン・珪素の時空間分布の詳細を、形態分別定量および高感度・高分解能測定方法を用いて明らかにする。また、海洋から大気への揮発性有機物のフラックスについて、炭素・窒素を中心とした生元素レベルで評価することをめざし、同時に海洋表層内での有機物の代謝過程を細菌群集組成解析と合わせて評価を行う。
