Research Abstract

ソフトマターはその柔軟性のために外場(電場、磁場、流動場)により容易に大変形が起こり、その結果として粘弾性等に劇的な物性変化が生じるため、応用上も重要である。例えば、互いに相溶しない2種類の流体を混合すると単一の流体には無い新たなレオロジー的性質が現れることが古くから知られている。本研究では、流動および電場下においてソフトマター(主に非相溶高分子ブレンドと液晶)の3次元動的構造観察とレオロジー測定が同時にできるシステムを構築し、非平衡系における構造とレオロジーの関係、さらに転移機構を明らかにする。
