Research Abstract

本研究では、マイクロ波誘起加熱による金属及び金属ガラス粉末の焼結挙動、脱水素化反応の効果及びそれらのバルク金属ガラス、ポーラス金属ガラス、ナノ構造複合焼結体の各種性能に関する研究を行った。バルク金属ガラスは高強度(典型的な例として、Ti基、Cu基、Zr基金属ガラスは約2 GPa, Ni基金属ガラスは約3 GPa, Fe-Co基金属ガラスは約5GPaの引張強度がある)、高耐摩耗性、高耐腐食性、約2%の大弾性変形など特徴を有し、また、ガラス/ナノ結晶複合材料は50%以上の室温延性を持ち、さまざまな応用が期待されている。しかしながら、鋳造方法ではガラス形成能の制限がある。一方、マイクロ波加熱は、マイクロ波電力を誘電体に吸収させて誘電体内部からの自己発熱を利用しているため、従来の熱伝導や輻射による加熱方式に比べて急速加熱、低温・短時間で焼結が可能である。我々はマイクロ波焼結プロセスを用いて、金属ガラス粉末及びナノ結晶粉末の焼結挙動を検討した。また、マイクロ波照射によるガラス粉末の相変態への影響及び錯体水素化物の脱水素化反応の効果も検討した。材料プロセシングにおけるマイクロ波エネルギーの利用として、時間とエネルギーの節約、急速加熱、プロセシング温度の低減、精密な構造制御そして機械的性質向上、優れた製品の性能及び環境インパクトの低減など特徴である。
