Research Abstract

細胞質雄性不稔性は、ミトコンドリアゲノムと核ゲノムの特定の組み合わせで花粉発育障害が起きる現象である。雄性不稔細胞質のミトコンドリアには雄性不稔の原因となるキメラ遺伝子が存在し、一方、核コードの稔性回復遺伝子はキメラ遺伝子産物の修飾を行なって障害を回避していると考えられている。本研究では、イネにおける3種類の細胞質雄性不稔/稔性回復遺伝子(BT-CMS/Rf1, LD-CMS/Rf2, CW-CMS/Rf17)を材料とし、それぞれ、雄性不稔発現機構および稔性回復機構の解明を行なうことを目的とする。
