Research Abstract

アブラナ科植物においては、花粉と雌ずいの接触に始まる初期受粉過程は、生殖過程における最初の生殖障壁として特に重要である。異種の花粉(種間不和合性)や同種であっても自己の花粉(自家不和合性)は、この初期段階で発芽・伸長が阻害される。これまでの研究により、アブラナ科植物の花粉が、同種の雌ずい乳頭細胞に対して花粉の受入に必要な生理反応を誘導する分子(「和合シグナル」と呼ぶ)を保持していることが示唆されてきており、本分子が種間における生殖障壁として機能している可能性が推察される。本研究では、「和合シグナル」の実体を解明すること、また、本分子により雌ずい乳頭細胞内に誘起される生理変化とその情報伝達経路を解明することを目的としている。
