Research Abstract

本研究では、人間に恵みを与える森林生態系、陸域生態系、海洋生態系の相互連環に注目し、その連関及び維持機構の保全により、われわれがその恵みを持続的に賢く利用し続けていくためには何が必要であるかを明らかにする。そのために臨界自然資本という概念を援用し、その理論的かつ実証的な識別を通して、人間が自然に対して超えてはならない限界を探る方法を確立するとともに、人間と自然との長いかかわりから生み出されてきた管理手法、資源政策、環境政策をいっそう進化させ、現実から遊離させることなく、実効性のある形で臨界自然資本保全あるいは自然再生の方策の体系として提示することをねらっている。
