Outline of Annual Research Achievements

これまでの星団の形成過程及び銀河系進化の研究をまとめた.ハーシェル宇宙望遠鏡による3万個以上の分子雲の観測データから,銀河系内のほぼすべての大質量星や星団がハブ・フィラメント系と呼ばれる分子雲で生まれているが,その構造は犬塚らが提唱する星形成のバブル・フィラメント・パラダイムに現れるバブルの衝突で説明可能可能であり(Kumar+2022),期待される特徴的な「風車」磁場構造も発見した(Hwang+2022).このパラダイムはは最近JWSTが発見した系外円盤銀河のバブル構造と星形成をも記述することが示唆される.90億年にわたる期間にわたる銀河系の星形成活動を可能にする銀河ハローと円盤の相互作用の重要性を見抜き,銀河円盤から吹き出る銀河風加速メカニズムを解明して,ハローを重元素で十分に汚染することを示した(霜田・犬塚・長島2022, 2024).形成された星は銀河系の動径方向に移動することがGaiaのデータと分光観測データを組み合わせて示し(千葉ら),さらに,理論シミュレーションによっても示した(藤本ら2023, Babaら2023).星形成活動により誕生する天体の角運動量の起源を解明した(三杉ら2022, 2024).また原始惑星系円盤の形成過程について解明した(塚本ら2023等).
松本・塚本らは種々の優れた磁気流体力学的数値計算法についても発展させ,数値天文学のコミュニティ全体に貢献した.さらに,本新学術領域の最大のテーマの一つである「太陽系の誕生場所を突き止める」という課題に関して,現在の地球上にも(寿命が百万年程度の放射性同位体である)原子量60のFeが降り注いでおり,その観測量を再現するには超新星爆発の影響を強く受ける環境に長時間滞在する必要があることを見出した.この制限から太陽系は銀河系のもっと内側で生まれて外側に移動してきたことを示唆した.
