Research Abstract

本特定領域研究・研究項目「スピン流とナノヘテロ構造」では、金属、半導体、酸化物等で構成されるナノヘテロ構造を用いて電荷流からスピン流を効率良く生成し、伝播させ、更に電荷流に再変換する新たな操作原理を探索し、その手法を確立することを目的とする。最終的には研究成果を基にシリコンベース素子技術に統合されうるスピン流回路の実現を目指す。このためには独立に進行する4つの個別計画研究((1)金属ナノ構造を用いた「新しいスピン流生成・操作手法の探索」;(2)半導体へテロ構造を用いた「スピン軌道相互作用を用いたスピン流の電気的な検出と制御」;(3)「シリコンベース素子を用いたスピン注入効率の最適化」;(4)「ナノへテロ構造におけるスピン注入とスピン蓄積の理論」)が有機的に結びついて相互に情報交換しながら進展する必要がある。このための支援体制を構築し、実際に研究進展に役立てることが本課題の目的である。このために、(1)共有データベースサーバーの構築、(2)ビデオ会議システムの構築、(3)定期的な情報交換会議の開催及び関連国際学会に出席し成果発表および情報収集を行う。
