金属ナノ構造を用いた光局在場の創製と光化学反応への応用

Research Abstract

平成21年度から継続して、ナノギャップ金属構造を含むマイクロメートルサイズの反応容器を作製し、溶液系でのフォトクロミック反応を試みた。金属ナノ構造が存在しない条件と比較した結果、反応の増強率は102倍と見積もられた。また、ナノギャップ(触媒活性サイト)において反応した分子数から、本触媒のターンオーバー数(TOF)を見積もると、単一パルス幅内に反応した分子数、反応容器内の触媒活性サイトの数、およびパルス幅からTOFは8.1×10^9s^<-1>と見積られた。この値は、生体内の酵素反応を凌駕する大きなターンオーバー数であり、ナノギャップ金構造が2光子反応を促進する高効率な光触媒として有用であることが示された。また、紫外から赤外波長域の幅広いスペクトルに対応した高い光電変換効率を有する光エネルギー変換技術への応用を試みた。昨年度は、単結晶n型酸化チタン基板(0.05wt%Nbドープ)上に金ナノブロック構造を作製し、光電気化学測定を行ったところ、電子ドナーを含まない電解質水溶液を用いても可視域から近赤外波長域において光電変換が誘起され、光電変換アクションスペクトルはプラズモン共鳴バンドと良い一致を示すことが明らかとなった。本年度は、近赤外光照射による光電流発生の詳細なメカニズムを追跡したところ、金ナノ構造/酸化チタン電極からほぼ化学量論的に酸素および過酸化水素が発生していることを明らかにした。これは、波長1000nm(1.24eV)の近赤外光照射においても、金ナノ構造/酸化チタン界面では、2個の水分子から電極界面に生成した複数の正孔に同時に4電子移動する過程が、ほぼ過電圧無しで進行して酸素が生成することを示しており、可視・近赤外光による人工光合成系への展開も期待される。さらに、2極式太陽電池への応用や散乱によるロスを低減させる金属ナノ構造の設計を明らかにすることにも成功した。
