Research Abstract

動植物のマクロな動きや細胞内の物質移動は分子レベルで生体分子機械によって精緻に制御されている。その最も基本的なメカニカル作用である単一分子内の運動制御と1次元分子移動を人工化合物で実現することは、単に自然をより深く理解するばかりでなく、人類にとって有用な分子メカニカル機能の創出へとつながる。本研究課題では、フォトクロミズムの特徴である光による可逆的な構造変化を利用して、光駆動できる分子機械の実現を目的としている。
具体的には、(1)分子内の回転運動の光制御、(2)高分子または分子組織体のブラウン運動の光制御が本研究の目標である。
