Research Abstract

本特定領域研究では、配列ナノ空間を有する物質群の伝導・磁気物性を研究している。H21年度では、H20年度に確立したIV族元素であるSi,Geを構成要素として形成されるナノ配列空間構造物質の単結晶育成法を用いて、キャリヤ濃度を幅広く変化させた試料を対象として、キャリヤに依存する物性とフォノンに依存する物性を独立に評価する研究を遂行した。対象物質は、p,n両方のキャリヤを制御したBa_8Ga_<16>Ge_<30>ならびにSr_8Ga_<16>Ge_<30>系n型単結晶である。広いエネルギー領域の比熱を非調和振動ポテンシャルモデルと調和振動ポテンシャルモデルを用いて解析して、その結果、電子およびホールキャリヤに依存する電子比熱項であるゾンマーフェルトγ項と非調和振動ポテンシャル間のトンネリング運動に起因するα項を分離して求める事に成功した。その結果、n型Ba_8Ga_<16>Ge_<30>に比較してn型Sr_8Ga_<16>Ge_<30>ではα項の値が非常に大きい事が明確になった。この理由は、Sr_8Ga_<16>Ge_<30>では基本的に籠構造は内包原子の中心振動を与える調和振動ポテンシャルを形成する籠構造と非中心振動を与える非調和振動ポテンシャルを形成する籠構造の2種類の籠構造が存在することが、H20年度の軟X線光電子分光の研究から知られているが、非調和振動を与える籠構造においてGaとGeの原子配置に乱雑性が存在するために、ガラスと同様に無秩序性が存在する事に起因する事によるものと解釈される。このような現象は、III-III-IV族と数種類の構成元素を有するクラスレートで普遍的に観測される現象であると考えられる。
